Special issue of the 2015 URSI-Japan Radio Science Meeting

This special issue is a collection of papers presented at the “2015 URSI-Japan Radio Science Meeting” (URSI-JRSM 2015) held in Tokyo, Japan on September 3-4, 2015, and includes invited papers and contributed papers. It is aimed at reporting progress and recent advances in the radio science research ranging from fundamental theories to various applications and covers the areas related to all the URSI Commissions A to K. Topics include electromagnetic metrology, fields and waves, radio communication systems and signal processing, electronics and photonics, electromagnetic environment and interference, wave propagation and remote sensing, ionospheric radio and propagation, waves in plasmas, radio astronomy, electromagnetics in biology and medicine.

Innovative Microwave Devices, Methods, and Applications

This special issue consists of a selection of papers expanded from contributions presented at the 15th Mediterranean Microwave Symposium held in Lecce, Italy in November and December 2015. Microwave technologies and methodologies apply to many application fields, and interest in new, intriguing, and challenging problems in the field is becoming stronger. A small sample of applications includes safety issues, noninvasive diagnostics, terahertz devices, artificial materials, environmental monitoring, and new antennas. This is an invite-only special issue.

Asia-Pacific Radio Science Conference - 2013

This special issue includes papers related to the topics covered by International Union of Radio Science (URSI) Commissions B, C, F, G, and H. Papers related to other URSI Commissions (A, D, E, J, K) may also be included when they are of great importance in the progress in radio science. Topics include fields and waves, radio communication and signal processing systems, wave propagation and remote sensing, ionospheric radio and propagation, waves in plasmas, and radio science activities in Asia-Pacific region.

Student Papers at the 2012 USNC-URSI National Radio Science Meeting

Every year, the United States National Committee (USNC) of the International Union of Radio Science (URSI) organizes the Ernest K. Smith Student Paper Competition. Graduate students who are enrolled in a U.S. university are eligible to submit a full paper, of up to 25 pages in length, on any topic of interest to one of the 10 URSI Commissions.

Student Papers at the 2011 URSI General Assembly and Scientific Symposium

754 Students from universities all over the world were invited to enter a competition for five prizes to be awarded at the XXX URSI General Assembly and Scientific Symposium, held at Istanbul, Turkey, on 13-20, August, 2011. The entries are papers submitted in the format of Radio Science, in which the student must be the first author. The papers are reviewed by three reviewers. Immediately after the competition, all participating students will be invited to submit their papers to the special section of Radio Science and will be provided with the anonymous reviews, so that they may then to revise their manuscripts as needed. The number of papers that will be submitted for the special section will not be known until mid-October 2011; authors will be asked to submit their revised manuscripts by the end of December 2011.
