Introduction and evaluation of a Weibull unsaturated hydraulic conductivity function of the capillary head of water in porous media
The paper presents an interesting and new empirical equation for the soil hydraulic conductivity-pressure head characteristic. It generalizes the widely used exponential relationship proposed by Wilford Gardner way back in 1958. The authors show that their Weibull-type relationship reduces to Gardner's exponential relationship if one of the parameters, namely ω, is set equal to unity. The Weibull-type appears suited for fitting data in the wet range, without introducing awkward discontinuities.
