Past seawater temperature reconstruction from northeast Atlantic Ocean
This manuscript presents an annually resolved temperature record over the last 200-plus years from high northern latitudes, where the more extreme effects of global warming are observed. The paper extends the record to pre-instrumental times, thus making it possible to quantify the range of natural climate variability mediated by the ocean, and to robustly attribute recent changes to anthropogenic or natural drivers.
