Investigating the relationship between extreme precipitation and convective organization
This paper addresses the question of how the spatial organization of convection influences extreme values of precipitation. The question of organization has received attention recently because the tendency of convection to organize seems related to temperature, while having important impacts on energy balance. This study focuses on another impact, namely how the heaviest rains produced in the atmosphere depend on the degree of organization.
