Bridging the gap between cyclone wind and wave by C-band SAR measurements
The fact that tropical cyclone and hurricane and typhoon driven oceanic surface gravity wave periods and significant wave heights can be directly obtained from C-band radar is a significant advance. Also, the distribution of the mechanically wind-driven wave field and the wind induced oceanic swell, in and around the cyclone, is an interesting finding.
